The board
The hero board is the Waveshare ESP32-S3-Touch-AMOLED-1.75C: a 1.75 inch round 466 x 466 AMOLED with touch, 32 MB flash and 8 MB PSRAM, push-to-talk on PWR, speaker and mic, battery status and over-the-air updates. In the Muse Gadget SDK it shows status as an avatar, which is where Chipo lives.
The SDK's device table lists 30 boards: 21 on ESP32-S3, 4 on ESP32-C6, 3 on the original ESP32, 1 on ESP32-C3 and 1 on ESP32-C5. Four of them have a round display: the Waveshare S3 1.75C, the Waveshare S3 1.75, the M5Stack StopWatch and the Seeed SenseCAP Watcher.
| Board | Display | Fit for Chipo |
|---|---|---|
| Waveshare ESP32-S3-Touch-AMOLED-1.75C | 1.75" round AMOLED, touch | Hero board |
| Waveshare ESP32-S3-Touch-AMOLED-1.75 | 1.75" round AMOLED, touch | Same face, 16 MB flash |
| M5Stack StopWatch | 1.75" round AMOLED, touch | Same face size |
| Seeed SenseCAP Watcher | 1.45" round LCD, touch | Smaller round face |
| Other avatar boards (S3 BOX-3, CoreS3, StickS3 and more) | Square or rectangular LCD | Face fits, not round |
| Status-light boards (C5 and S3 DevKitC, HA Voice PE) | No screen | No face |
The five faces
The ratio is money left divided by the weekly budget. Dancing needs 60% or more left and a purchase logged in the last 24 hours. Happy is 40% or more, fine 20% or more, worried anything above zero, sad at zero or below.
Pair it
- Flash the Chipo firmware onto the board and join it to your Wi-Fi.
- In the Muse app, open Settings > Devices > Developer mode.
- Get an SDK token from gadgets.muse.ai and pair the gadget with it.
- Link a wallet in the pocket and copy the Chipo token it shows once.
- Open the gadget console and type the commands below, each starting with
>.
>chipo token <token> >chipo api https://chipo.cash >chipo status
The console reads a command only after a leading >. The token is never printed back; >chipo status shows the API host, whether a token is set and the last budget it fetched.
The firmware repository link appears here once it is public.
Every endpoint the gadget calls is in the docs.
